Agwey Metal has the capabilities and experienced manpower to take on demanding manufacturing challenges, including the seamless assumption of fabrication and production responsibilities for our customers. In the example profiled here, a customer in the measurement and instrumentation industry commissioned us to take over their existing product line, producing over 225 parts for their business. We utilize a number of fabrication processes including bending, spot welding and stamping for sheet metal fabrication; CNC machining methods such as drilling, tapping, reaming, grinding, and countersinking; and Waterjet cutting procedures. The products in this customer’s line also call for deburring, plating, heat treating, painting, sand blasting, assembly and kitting. We carry out all procedures at our state of the art facility, utilizing advanced equipment including stamping presses, waterjet machines, CNC machining center, press brake, spot welder, and barrel and vibratory tumblers.
Customer parts are composed of a variety of materials including cold rolled steel, stainless steel, brass, copper, aluminum, beryllium copper, phosphor bronze, inconel, havar, hastelloy, Ni-Span, nickel silver, lexan, and polycarbonate in material thicknesses from 0.010″ to 0.185″. Finished part dimensions range from .0005″ to .020″, and all components are comprehensively tested and inspected for accuracy and quality with our in-process, step by step measurement procedures using a variety of tools including micrometers, plug and thread gauges, optical comparator, harness testers, and height gauges. We manufacture 50 to 150,000 parts per piece annually for this customer, shipped to their location utilizing a Kanban system.
